IndyHub statement on recent events

IndyHub shares in the sadness, frustration, fear and helplessness that so many people across our country feel today.

In the wake of the tragedies in Baton Rouge, Falcon Heights, Dallas, and so recently, Orlando, we send our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those who were lost. We send our hope for peace and understanding to the citizens of these cities, too.

A greater Indianapolis is one where each of us – regardless of race, sexual-identity or gender – focus our energy on a movement for positive change. A change that calls every citizen into action – to attend, to listen, to rally, to volunteer, to become educated on the issues that plague all sides of social injustices.

In order for change to occur we must move our feet. Here are two ways to do that right now:

  1. Attend the Community Conversation on July 9, 4-6 p.m. at Light of the World Christian Church.
  1. Get to know the officers in your neighborhood. Attend neighborhood meetings or participate in a ride-along. To sign up, call your district HQ during regular business hours.

We will add more to this list as we discover opportunities and forums to grow. We encourage you to share your ideas, too.

Our wish for our city and its citizens is to find common ground, understanding and collective action toward equity for all.
