AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION works to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION aims to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

ANIMALIA engages and educates the public to further the appreciation, conservation, and responsible care for natural habitats and all animals: native, exotic, and domestic.


ARTS FOR LEARNING empowers Indiana students through art-related experiences, sparking their curiosity and stimulating their minds. A YP board works to raise funds and awareness by planning special events and serving as ambassadors.

BACK ON MY FEET INDIANAPOLIS is looking for runners, walkers, race volunteers and planning committee members to help those experiencing homelessness change the way they see themselves so they can make real change in their lives that results in employment and independent living.

BENJAMIN HARRISON PRESIDENTIAL SITE works to increase public understanding of, appreciation for and participation in the American system of self-government through the life stories, arts and culture of an American President. You can volunteer and help with special events.

BEST BUDDIES INDIANA seeks to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, leadership development and integrated employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF CENTRAL INDIANA provides children facing adversity with enduring relationships that change their lives. This year they will serve 1,100 children in Marion, Hamilton and Johnson Counties. Whether you are a Big Brother, Sister, Couple or Friends, be trained and matched within 90 days.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF INDIANAPOLIS provide youth development programs for youth ages 5 – 18 in 11 clubs across Indianapolis.

CENTER OF WELLNESS FOR URBAN WOMEN works to reduce health disparities for women and their families in Indianapolis through empowerment based programming.

CENTRAL INDIANA SCIENCE OUTREACH is an informal meeting of people who want to educate the public about the impact of science in their lives. The group is open to anyone from science teachers, organizers, advocates and hobbyists who would like to share ideas and increase collaboration.

CHILDREN’S BUREAU YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ADVISORY BOARD is made up of people who are passionate about supporting the Children’s Bureau mission to serve abused and neglected children and families in Indiana. The group hosts regular social events and volunteer with the youth.

CHIP is mobilizing the community towards ending homelessness in Indianapolis. They provide a hub of information about social service organizations and can connect you to direct service volunteer opportunities and with awareness, advocacy and fundraising activities.

COBURN PLACE SAFE HAVEN empowers victims of intimate partner violence to live as survivors. The vision of Coburn Place is of a world where every adult and child may live free from intimate partner violence, housed stably and safely, with adequate financial resources.

COLLEGE MENTORS ETC is a committee of professionals in the Indianapolis area that aims to engage the local community with College Mentors for Kids and to connect the college student mentors with the local community.

CONNER PRAIRIE aims to inspire curiosity and foster learning about Indiana’s past by providing engaging, individualized and unique experiences.

DESMOND TUTU CENTER works to understand, enhance, and impact the local and global discouse around peace, reconciliation and global justice by cultivating research, promoting the exchange and understanding of global issues, developing young leaders and nuturing concern about peace and justice among civic, religious, and academic leaders.

DIG IN, INC. is a non-profit for the economic development of Indiana food, beverage, and agriculture through education and collaboration. Dig IN fosters a resilient Indiana food system focused on farmer sustainability and consumer expectations, and promotes access to high quality food for all while celebrating our unique Hoosier food heritage.


DOWNTOWN INDY, INC. is a private, not-for-profit organization that is uniquely positioned to address issues that affect the area’s growth and well-being. Downtown Indy focuses on development, management, activation and marketing to advance Downtown as a great place to live, learn, work and play.

FACE LOW-COST ANIMAL CLINIC has a mission to end euthanasia of cats and dogs in Indianapolis by offering accessible spay/neuter, vaccination, medical care and community cat care, without financial or geographic restrictions.

FIRST BOOK INDY is a volunteer group committed to providing access to new books for children in need in Marion County and surrounding counties.

FOUNTAIN SQUARE ARTS COUNCIL acts as a catalyst for arts and communication arts in southeast Indianapolis by engaging community artists and neighbors.

GIRL SCOUTS OF CENTRAL INDIANA builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scouting provides girls with opportunities to address the important issues in their lives.

GOODWILL YOUNG LEADERS BOARD supports Goodwill Industries through volunteering and leveraging of resources and social capital to generate new stakeholders and improve the employability of the people Goodwill serves.

GREATER INDIANAPOLIS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY is an ecumenical Christian ministry that envisions Indianapolis a place where every resident has access to quality and affordable homeownership opportunities. Costs are kept to a minimum by utilizing volunteers for a majority of the building.

HUMANE SOCIETY OF INDIANAPOLIS is Indiana’s leading animal welfare agency and the first choice for pet adoption, low-cost pet wellness services and canine training. For more than 100 years, it’s all about the animals.

INDIANA HISTORICAL SOCIETY is Indiana’s Storyteller, connecting people to the past by collecting, preserving and sharing the state’s history through engaging programming and expanded volunteer opportunities.

INDIANA HUMANITIES connects people, open minds and enriches lives by creating and facilitating programs that encourage Hoosiers to think, read and talk.

INDIANA SPORTS CORP works to create positive impact by hosting world-class sporting events that enhance vibrancy in the community, build civic pride, drive economic impact and media exposure, and encourage opportunities for youth.

INDIANA STATE MUSEUM – 1816 ASSOCIATE BOARD is working to extend the museum’s reach, increase awareness and deeply involve a new demographic. The Associate Board is currently assisting in planning Indiana Spirits, a large gala event.

INDIANAPOLIS CHAMBER ORCHESTRA advances and promotes music for the small orchestra through professional concert performances, a weekly WFYI broadcast and educational programs.

INDIANAPOLIS CULTURAL TRAIL, INC. ensures that the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene and Marilyn Glick is a beautifully maintained and vibrant community asset connecting people and places in downtown Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS DOWNTOWN ARTISTS & DEALERS ASSOCIATION (IDADA) develops public awareness of the artists and the art dealer,  encourages strong community support of the visual arts, and promotes the highest professional standards for artists in Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MARATHON is Indiana’s largest marathon and a U.S. top 25 marathon. They work to educate Indianapolis youth about healthy living and support local education nonprofits. The Monumental Advisory Committee engages those interested in being more involved.

INDIANAPOLIS MUSEUM OF ART is one of the 10 oldest and largest Museums in the nation. The Museum offers an encyclopedic collection of more than 54,000 works spanning 5,000 years, a vibrant calendar of public programs, events and exhibitions.

INDIANAPOLIS NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING PARTNERSHIP is the nonprofit homeownership resource in Marion County dedicated to serving homeowners and homebuyers through a blend of homeownership education, advising and affordable mortgage and loan options, ultimately helping to strengthen neighborhoods.


INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC LIBRARY enriches lives and builds communities through lifelong learning and aims to be a center of knowledge, community life and innovation for Indianapolis.

INDY DO DAY is a people-powered community day of service when residents of Indianapolis take ownership of their neighborhoods and care for their neighbors. Led by the Rotary Club of Indianapolis, this grassroots initiative was developed by a coalition of area businesses and organizations looking to inspire change.

INDY FILM FEST seeks to create a shared experience around film. They champion movies that entertain, challenge and expand perspectives in Indianapolis and beyond.

INDY IRISH FEST is a weekend long celebration of all things Irish – dance, music, shopping, sports and more! There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for you to be involved in the celebration this September.

INDY PARKS creates fun, safe, engaging and sustainable parks that enhance the quality of life for individuals, neighborhoods and communities in Indianapolis.

INDY PRIDE, INC. exists to unite and serve its members and the LGBTQ community of Central Indiana through leadership development, educational and support programs, and community events that achieve inclusivity, equality, strong community connections, and awareness of LGBTQ issues.

INDY READS is a non-profit adult literacy program aimed at adults who read at or below a 6th grade level. They invite the public to hold story time, book/poetry readings and art exhibits.

INDY ZOO COUNCIL empowers people and communities, both locally and globally, to advance animal conversation and sustainability.

INDYCOG works to make Indianapolis a more bicycle friendly city for both transportation and recreational purposes.

INDYGO provides a customer-focused, fiscally responsible and diversified public transportation system that is safe, clean and reliable for the citizens and visitors of Marion County and surrounding jurisdictions. Ask them about the Julia M. Carson Transit Center, which opens in a few short weeks!

INDYSHRM is committed to advancing the human resource profession and the capabilities of all human resource professionals in central Indiana. They do so by engaging human resource professionals and providing comprehensive and up-to-date resources and opportunities to build professional relationships that will enhance their effectiveness as HR leaders.

MARY RIGG NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER empowers individuals in southwest Indianapolis by serving as a resource for help and hope. MRNC assists families in strenghtening their own lives and increasing independence through innovative services, activities, training, and enrichment opportunities.

MEALS ON WHEELS OF CENTRAL INDIANA delivers two medically-tailored meals each weekday to more than 500 homebound men and women in the greater Indianapolis area. Participate as a delivery volunteer, help in the office and with special events.

MENTAL HEALTH AMERICA OF GREATER INDIANAPOLIS is Indianapolis’ leading non-profit dedicated to helping all people live mentally healthier lives and represents a growing movement of Americans who promote mental wellness for the health and well-being of the nation- every day and in times of crisis.

PREMIER HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE cares for those experiencing a terminal illness by providing joy, love and tranquility.

REACH FOR YOUTH is home to a nationally recognized Teen Court program and they provide behavior counseling to teens and their families.

is the young professionals board supporting the Ronald McDonald House, where every night 58 families are at home while their kids receive care at Indy hospitals.

SCHOOL ON WHEELS provides one-on-one tutoring and educational advocacy for school-aged children experiencing homelessness and engage their parents to help them become advocates for their child’s education.

SECOND CHANCE MENTORING engages volunteers to act as mentors to mothers and fathers ages 18 and older who are transitioning back into their community from prison. The program aims to reduce the high percentage of persons who repeatedly return to prison.

THE INDIANA CITIZENS’ ALLIANCE FOR TRANSIT (ICAT) educates on the benefits of transit and advocates for the immediate development and ongoing support of comprehensie transit options in communities across Indiana.

THE INDY CONVERGENCE strives to empower and connect artists from all backgrounds to communities, other artists and cultures in an inclusive, collaborative environment. Programs include professional development and community engagement to put ‘Artists to Work’ at their fullest potential at all stages of development.

THE JULIAN CENTER empowers survivors of domestic and sexual violence to end the generational cycle of violence by meeting survivors wherever they are on their journey and support them along the path to self-sufficiency.

TIMMY GLOBAL HEALTH seeks to expand access to healthcare by providing direct medical services in underserved communities, and investing in health systems for underserved patients. There are volunteer opportunities for mission trips and in the Indianapolis HQ.


TRUSTED MENTORS is the leading provider of mentors for young adults aging out of foster care and people leaving homelessness or returning from prison to help them stabilize their lives. Volunteer are needed to mentors and participate in fundraising events.

UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL INDIANA helps people learn more, earn more and lead safe and healthy lives. This year they seek to inspire 50 new EL members and recruit 200 new ReadUP tutors to fully serve elementary school students.

VISUALLY IMPAIRED PRESCHOOL SERVICES (VIPS INDIANA) empowers families by providing educational excellence to young children with visual impairments in order to build a strong foundation for reaching their highest protential.

WESTMINSTER NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES works with at-risk children and families on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis, supporting them basic needs assistance, support programs and early childhood and youth education.

YMCA OF GREATER INDIANAPOLIS aims to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

YOUNG NON-PROFIT PROFESSIONALS NETWORK INDY (YNPN) seeks to be a safe place to share the struggles and joys of mission-driven work for individuals across Central Indiana, serving as a resource and a source of encouragement and empowerment for young non-profit professionals.
