Why do you participate in IndyVolved?

IndyVolved is THE place to meet 20/30-somethings who are interested and engaged citizens, and connect them to our resources and programs. These are our people – future program attendees, board members, volunteers and donors!

What is your favorite part of IndyVolved?

The diversity of attendees. We’ll see lots of friends and acquaintances, and we’ll meet an entirely new crop of people – those who are new to the city, those just emerging from their college “bubbles,” and those who have lived here all of their lives.

As an IndyHub board member and the director of communications and development for Indiana Humanities, this sort of attendance is really exciting.

What advice could you give to a first time IndyVolved attendee?

Everyone on the organization side is looking to make a connection. Smile, make eye contact and engage with them. But move on if you’re not truly interested.

Have a route so you can get exposure to everyone, but allow yourself to get pulled in to a booth that attracts your attention or to engage in a long conversation with a group you’re interested in learning more about.
