The Del Boca Vista of 2010
7/29/2010
For those of us well versed in the world that Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld created all those years ago, we remember Del Boca Vista. It was the condominium complex where Jerry’s parents spent their golden years.
After an embarrassing impeachment, Morty Seinfeld convinced Kramer to run for President, so he could continue to run the board as he pulled the strings willingly attached to the clueless Kramer.
Well, Del Boca Vista is back… in Bonita Springs, Florida. At our family’s condominium complex (largely comprised of retired folks), a coup has started. In fact, the fuel’s been thrown on the fire for the last several months. It started with rumors—then e-mails—then posts to the website—then more e-mails—then posts to the website—then more e-mails—then regular letters.
Since the coup started, the property managers have been run off, legal bills gone unpaid, concluding with a ballot to impeach the President. Wow!
I’ve always loved Seinfeld, but with the expectation that its stories were based on hyperbole.
Well, this is a case of life imitating art, and it ain’t pretty. Maybe I should ask the soon-to-be ousted President if she wants me to run as her puppet… nah, it probably wouldn’t be as funny in real life. :)
