More About Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity
Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity unites the community with people in need to provide the life-changing opportunity to purchase and own quality, affordable homes. In order to successfully partner with low-income families for homeownership, Habitat for Humanity relies on support from sponsors, volunteers, community partners, individual donors and future homeowners.
Build-Site Volunteer: You can help Greater Indy Habitat build or rehab homes as a build-site volunteer. No construction experiences is necessary and site superintendents provide hands-on teaching, leadership and encouragement. All volunteers must be at least 16 years-old.
ReStore Volunteer: The ReStore is a home improvement thrift store that sells new or gently used items donated by individuals and companies. All proceeds benefit Greater Indy Habitat’s mission of providing affordable homes to people in need. You can lend a hand in the Habitat ReStore by helping to organize and sort donations and assist with customer service. ReStore volunteers work alongside our staff Monday through Saturday. All volunteers must be at least 15 years-old.
PAL Mentor: You can make a difference in a Habitat homeowner’s life by becoming a PAL Mentor. A PAL Mentor takes on primary functions of support and communication between the Habitat Partner Family during the homeowner education and building/rehabbing process.
