PACKET PICK-UP 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Volunteers Needed: 15
Be a part of the anticipation and excitement before the Inaugural Monumental Mile! Athletes pick up their event information and race bib numbers so they are ready for the race.
Duties include passing out race packets and t-shirts to participants, providing race information and assisting in directing people as they prepare for the mile.
Location: The Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument located on Monument Circle

GEAR CHECK 4:45 pm – 9:00 pm
Volunteers Needed: 10
Assist participants by keeping their belongings safe as they enjoy the event with you as a smiling face to connect with them after. Duties include labeling and organizing participant’s belongings so that they are ready for quick pick-up at the end of the race.
Location : The Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument located on Monument Circle Start Line

SETUP / COORDINATION 5:00 – 8:00 pm
Volunteers Needed: 5
A behind the scenes duty that helps the Monumental start with success. Provide an extra hand as the Start Line is assembled/dismantled and help coordinate the different waves.
Location: Report to Finish Area (The Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument located on Monument Circle) to sign in and pickup volunteer shirt then report to the Start Area at 12th and Meridian by 5:30 pm.

FINISH LINE / RUNNER SERVICES 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Volunteers Needed: 20
Be the first to see the runners as they come across the finish line. Be a part of the finish celebration!
As they finish, we need your help to guide them through the following areas:
Bottled Water Distribution : Hand the participants their much needed bottled water. They will be very appreciative!
Finish Line Assistant : Be there right in the heart of the action, helping keep the participants moving once they cross the finish line.
Location: Finish Line at The Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument located on Monument Circle

COURSE MARSHAL 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Volunteers Needed: 10
Direct participants along the route to ensure they go the proper way while encouraging them along the way. Duties include having a proper understanding of the course and ensuring safety. Some walking will be required. Refreshments will be provided.
Location: Various points along the course

TEAR DOWN CREW 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Volunteers Needed: 10
A behind the scenes duty that helps the Monumental finish with success. Provide an extra hand as the Finish Line is dismantled and the Finish Area is returned back to original condition. Can’t be afraid to get your hands dirty or help with heavy lifting.
Location: Report to Finish Area (The Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument located on Monument Circle)

Beyond Monumental is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. A talented group of civic-minded individuals with backgrounds in event management, sales, engineering, local government operations, education and charitable giving are developing national destination marathons, half marathons and other races in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. Our Core Goals: Educating Indianapolis youth about the benefits of exercise, proper diet and healthy living. Combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency by promoting health, physical fitness and wellness in the Indianapolis community. Utilizing proceeds from fundraising activities, specifically a marathon, to fund charities whose missions are consistent with the other purposes of this corporation.
