Seeing the headlines and our news feeds anymore can be disheartening. Cities and people across our country are facing grave challenges each and every day. Indy is certainly no exception, and each of us have a responsibility to keep pushing harder and further. We believe that to celebrate Indy, and to know our neighbors, is where we find love for this place.
Last week, an effort launched that has been in the pipeline for many years. IndyHub, along with the Indy Chamber and CICF, collaborated with a cross section of our community’s city-building organizations to develop tools and resources to share the the stories of life in Indianapolis. No Mean City is a citizens’ guide to our community, culture, schools, and housing in Marion County.

The cornerstone of Old City Hall at Alabama & Ohio Streets bears this inscription, placed there in 1909 by Mayor Charles Bookwalter to describe Indy as anything but average.
Time and time again, people here have noted that in Indy you can establish roots and truly make a difference. Dozens of individual contributors have lent their talents to give Indianapolis a voice. They are our neighbors, offering us a lens into their Indy. From here, this group of contributors continues to grow. As our city evolves, so too will No Mean City.
