An evening of music with John McCutcheon

November 13, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$25

Please join the Indy Folk Series as we present a live, in-person, evening of music with John McCutcheon at the Indiana History Center on November 13, 2021. American folksinger, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist John McCutcheon is regarded as a master of the hammered dulcimer, and is also proficient on many other instruments including guitar, banjo, autoharp, mountain dulcimer, fiddle, and jawharp. His eclectic catalog of ballads, historical songs, children’s songs, love songs, topical satire, fiddle and hammer dulcimer instrumentals, and even symphonic works, are among the broadest in American folk music.

John’s own songwriting has been hailed by critics around the world. His song “Christmas in the Trenches” is considered a classic and was named one of the 100 Essential Folk Songs by NPR, alongside “John Henry,” “This Land Is Your Land,” and “Blowin’ in the Wind.” His thirty-six albums have earned six Grammy nominations. John’s most recent release, “Cabin Fever: Songs from the Quarantine,” featuring 18 songs that are both topical and timeless, was the top album on folk radio DJ charts during June and July 2020. Tickets on sale starting October 16, 2021.
