The overall event is a 5K run in downtown Indianapolis on February 19, 2022. The event organizers will have many general volunteers that they recruit and one of those is our communications and safety team Circle City Radio Emergency Associated Communications Teams (REACT). Our job for this event is to provide public safety communications and traffic control for the event organizer in coordination with local law enforcement. As a new volunteer you will be paired with one of our long-term members at an observation post. You will be provided with a radio and necessary safety clothing.

The Polar Bear Winter Classic is our first event of 2022 and one of the simplest so it is a great time to get your feet wet doing this type of volunteer work.

Circle City REACT supports numerous events like this throughout the year and we can always use more help to enhance the safety of the participants and course visibility for the event staff. It all contributes to making Indianapolis a more inviting city for people who visit from all over the world. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
