November 11, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 7:00 pmFree
Join us Wednesday, November 11 to celebrate VonnegutFest and Kurt’s Birthday. In honor of our Veterans, we will have free admission to the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
At 12:30, please join us for the unveiling of the quilt being donated to KVML by the Indy Modern Quilt Guild and enjoy tea and pastries provided by Tea’s Me Indy at KVML, 543 Indiana Avenue.
“Practicing an Art” was created by the Indianapolis Modern Quilt Guild for The Modern Quilt Guild’s QuiltCon 2020 Charity Quilt Challenge. Every year, this challenge is issued to local guilds with a theme and a color palette. The 2020 theme was text in a palette of grayscale. From design through construction, this was a collaborative project involving 23 guild members.

Also join us for an in-person event that afternoon from 4-6 p.m. to view two new exhibits and the opportunity to meet some of the artists.
“Doodley Do Unto Others” is an exhibition and exchange portfolio curated by Jolynn Reigeluth. “The Children’s Crusade” collection on display at KVML is also curated by Jolynn. Prints from the “Doodley Do Unto Others” exhibit can be purchased here: https://kvml.square.site/
We are also pleased to open an exhibit of photos by Jack Wickes. Jack’s photos give us the unique opportunity to see the world through another’s eyes. He is a Vietnam Veteran who has contributed work to So It Goes, the art and literary journal of the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library.
