Enjoy a night of eating delicious food, shopping for unique items, and looking at beautiful art all while supporting your local community in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Growing Places Indy will be hosting the Indy Night Market, a festival-style event series that celebrates Indianapolis’s rich and diverse food culture.

The Indy Night Market is a festival-style event series that celebrates Indianapolis’s rich culture and cuisine by creating a space representing the city’s diverse offerings and supporting up-and-coming food concepts while encouraging visitors from the greater Indianapolis area and beyond to explore historic neighborhoods and spaces.

The first Indy Night Market will kick off Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Pan Am Plaza from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. To commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the U.S. on Juneteenth, the Indy Night Market will highlight African American cuisine and culture through local Black artists, chefs, entrepreneurs, farmers, and restaurants. Interested chefs, restaurants, and food entrepreneurs are encouraged to visit www.IndyNightMarket.org to sign up for updates to learn more about the vendor application process.

In contrast to a regular farmers market, the Indy Night Market is a food festival-style event that celebrates unique artists, farmers, entrepreneurs, and businesses, with emphasis on the historic scenes of Indianapolis. This family-friendly celebratory event hopes to encourage a stronger representation of different cultures, history, and global food scenes in the city.

This three-part series event encourages visitors from the greater Indianapolis area to go out and explore historic neighborhoods while getting the opportunity to discover hidden gems around the city and find new local businesses and entrepreneurs to support. The second series will take place in August, and the third in November 2021.

Through the Indy Night Market, local businesses and entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to grow and connect to residents. Community members will gain a wider perspective on the local food system and economy, all while reveling in rich historic spaces in Indianapolis.

The event strives to stimulate economic growth within Indianapolis and foster community engagement. Supporting local businesses is vital to creating a resilient and thriving community. By shopping locally, you cut down your carbon footprint, boost the local economy, and grow a stronger bond with your city and its people.

Growing Places Indy has a proud partnership with the Be Nimble Foundation, an organization dedicated to enhancing and creating an equitable food system in Indianapolis and fostering local entrepreneurship. The Indy Night Market hopes to inspire Indianapolis residents to invest in the local food ecosystem and create a stronger and inclusive community.

Growing Places Indy is a nonprofit that empowers individuals to cultivate personal, family, and community wellness through urban agriculture, access to fresh local food, and mind-body education.
