Run(317) is back! On May 18, we’ll host the first of five 3.17 Mile running/walking events. Run(317) is a family friendly event, that supports five different charities and encourages runners and walkers of all abilities to come out and enjoy Indianapolis.

This summer, each Run(317) race will showcase a different neighborhood. Participants will experience unique courses that explore The Circle in downtown Indianapolis, Broad Ripple, Mass Avenue, Carmel, and Fountain Square!

Runners that participate in the 3-race-series or 5-race-series will receive a free Run(317) zip up! All participants get two free beers and a coupon for a Penn Station sub after each race, in addition to their medals.

Something that makes Run(317) races unique is the charity aspect. Runners can feel good knowing that a portion of their race entry goes towards five different local non-profits!

Partners in Housing will be the beneficiary for the first RUN(317) event on May 18th on Monument Circle in Downtown Indianapolis.  Serving over 600 Indianapolis residents a year, Partners In Housing provides affordable housing to people who most need a stable place to live, while giving them support and a chance to reach their highest level of self-sufficiency.

On June 15th in Broad Ripple, School on Wheels will be the second featured charity. They provide one-on-one tutoring to homeless children in the Indianapolis area. School on Wheels aims to give children the tools to succeed in life and break the cycle of homelessness.

For the Mass Avenue RUN(317) event on July 20th, RUN(317) be partnering with Energy Krazed. Energy Krazed has the goal to get kids to take control of their health now, which would ultimately affect their future and life.

RUN(317)’s event in the Carmel Arts and Design District on August 31st  will be benefitting Kids’ Voice of Indiana. This charity specializes in preventing abuse, neglect, and endangerment of Indiana children. Kids’ Voice of Indiana protects endangered children by providing legal education, child advocacy and family visitation.

The final event of the RUN(317) season is in Fountain Square on October 12th. RUN(317) is excited to again partner with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. KIB is dedicated to creating more beautiful scenery and keeping nature thriving throughout Indiana. Each year they work on 500 new projects to keep Indianapolis looking as great as it does!

Don’t like running? That’s okay, too! Run(317) events can always use volunteers. From packet pick-up to post party help; any extra hands would be greatly appreciated. Plus, you could receive a nice cold beer (if you are 21 and older) and a free T-shirt for the hard work you’ve put in! Sign up to volunteer with us on May 18.

Run(317) starts on Thursday, May 18, so come out and join the hundreds that have already signed up for a good time and a great cause!
