Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site Volunteer

Ongoing volunteer opportunity – shifts available Monday-Friday from 10:00 am – 3:30 p.m.

The Presidential Site offers tours of Indiana’s only President. We do tours every half hour and welcome more than 30,000 visitors annually through walk-ins, school tours, and over 40 events a year! There is no time commitment and we will find a way to work within your schedule!

Volunteer responsibilities:

Volunteers can give tours of the home, work in the welcome center, or only work special events as they come throughout the year. Our biggest need however is docents and a welcome center ambassador however. Docents give a tour of the home that lasts roughly and hour-hour and a half depending on the group or various time constraints. We will fully train you and have you follow other tours so that you feel most comfortable with teaching the public about President Harrison, his family, legacy and home! Our other big need is welcome center ambassadors! They check in guests for tours and ring up gift shop sales. They are the first point of contact and often get asked question about Harrison. It is a good way to still be involved in the Site and teach the public, but for those who would prefer not to do so in the regular tour format.
