More about Best Buddies Indiana

Best Buddies International, founded in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, is dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies changes the lives of people with and without IDD, fostering the inclusion of a population that is often isolated and excluded. In Indiana, we serve over 5,600 participants in 85 chapters, impacting over 56,000 people, the largest proportion of which is located in the Indianapolis area.

While Best Buddies is most known for our middle school, high school and college chapters, our Citizens Program provides one-to-one friendships for adults in the Indianapolis area, and our Jobs program assists people with IDD in obtaining inclusive employment opportunities.
