Ongoing Opportunities: Support Group Facilitators and Buddies volunteer twice monthly on either Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings from 5:30-9:30.
Camp Healing Tree volunteers will be present for all or a portion of the weekend of August 23-25th.
Brooke’s Place provides many different opportunities for volunteers who want to help a grieving child. Volunteers may choose to become a trained support group facilitator or to serve grieving families who attend support group programming by serving meals and acting as hosts. Brooke’s Place also has opportunities for volunteers to facilitate in our our BP8 program, an 8 week topic based outreach grief support group for children and their caregivers. Volunteers may also choose to volunteer for one of the many roles available at Camp Healing Tree, a weekend camp for grieving children.
All of the volunteer roles at Brooke’s Place have different competencies required, but in general, we ask volunteers be caring and accepting, welcoming and comfortable with children. Some volunteer roles require quite a bit of physical mobility; all require the ability to pass a criminal history check.
