Indianapolis Animal Care Services is looking for volunteers Monday-Sunday 7am-8pm (6pm on weekends). They require 8 hours minimum each month, but love more.
Volunteer tasks include hands-on animal care, such as:
Dog walking; Advanced dog walking; Enrichment and stimulation; Grooming and bathing; Foster care; Medical support; Customer Interaction within Shelter; Adoption counseling; Community Outreach; Special events/offsite adoptions; Administrative Support; Follow-up and special project calls; Data entry; Digital photography; Facility Support; Kennel cleaning; Housekeeping; Seasonal landscaping.
As a volunteer, it is helpful if you:
Have a pleasant demeanor
Are caring toward customers, staff, and animals
Have knowledge of Indianapolis Animal Care Services’ purpose, policies, and procedures
Have a general knowledge of pet management and behavior
Have efficiency and organizational skills
Have oral and written communication skills
