Ongoing Opportunities: volunteers have the opportunity to chose their own days and times to work during the week. Day, evening, and overnight shifts are available.
Heartland Hospice volunteers support terminally ill patients and their families during a very challenging time in their lives. Patients live in private homes, nursing home, and assisted living facilities. Volunteers are trained to better understand the physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of dying and how we can offer support.
Volunteers choose what role they would like to pursue. Opportunities include friendly visits, reading, playing music, sitting vigil and offering quiet presence at the bedside.
Please contact Dana Criss if you are interested in volunteering.
About Heartland Hospice:
At Heartland Hospice, a not-for-profit, mission based provider and part of the ProMedica Health System, we care for people nationwide but a single principle within Our Vision binds them together—we are dedicated to providing the highest quality health care services. We research, evaluate, train and implement the care programs that work toward the highest practicable level of well-being for our patients. We provide disease management programs to help patients manage their disease(s), reduce unnecessary visits to the hospital, live the most fulfilling life possible and retain the greatest degree of independence right at home.
