Rebecca’s Garden of Hope Tutoring Program

Tuesday and/or Thursday from 5-7:30pm

Rebecca’s Garden Of Hope Tutoring & Mentoring Program provides free tutoring to elementary students in grades K-5 on Tuesday and/or Thursday from 5:00-7:30 P.M., and also a great free meal; All Tutors must be 16 & older. These are at-risk students from our community. In addition to tutoring we provide a meal to the students. If you have additional questions please contact Mr. Jim Boyd, Co-Director at 317-507-3357; We just completed our third year in April 2019. Our next program begins in September 2019 and will run weekly through mid-May 2020.

 

More about the volunteer opportunity:

Schedule: 5-5:15 P.M. – We walk students from school across the street.; 5:20-5:30 P.M. – Students wash hands and use bathroom; 5:30-5:50 P.M. – Meals served and students and volunteers eat with students; 6-7 P.M. – Home work help and tutoring in math, reading and writing; 7-7:30 P.M. – Bible Activities; 7:30 P.M. – Parents pick up students; Volunteers will assist elementary students with their daily home work assignments. We have reading and math worksheets that students can use when homework is complete. Students can select age specific books from our traveling library when home work is complete. Volunteers can also read to younger students.
