Ongoing; one hour per week
School on Wheels is looking for volunteers that will be tutoring students who have been impacted by homelessness. Tutors will provide academic support for one hour a week at one of our 16 partner locations. School on Wheels provides all of the resources needed and also have a staff members on site for support at every location. Their programs support students K-12.
Tutoring only occurs during the school year. Tutoring takes place Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-7:30pm. Volunteers select the day and time that works best for them.
Tutors support our curriculum-based programs, group tutoring or push in and pull out services for individual students, as needed, in our school sites. Tutors who volunteer at our shelter sites primarily provide after school homework assistance.
