U.S. Dream Academy Mentor

Weekly mentor sessions any week day, 4-5pm or 5-6pm

dream_academy_vol2U.S. Dream Academy is in need of one-to-one mentors for our students, grades 3-6th (as well as a few older alumns who live nearby), in an after school setting. We work on academic skills, social skills, and dream-building. If someone cannot commit to our hour per week for one-to-one mentoring, they can do group mentoring which can be more flexible with the time commitment and can either focus on a skill or project each session, or can simply spend positive time with our students. In the past we have had group mentors who taught dance, science lessons, played basketball, etc.

To be a mentor, an applicant must be at least 18 years of age and will submit information for us to run two background checks. They will also fill out an application and submit references.

Contact Rebecca McVay for more information on this opportunity by email or phone: rmcvay@usdreamacademy.org or (765) 860-5035.

About U.S. Dream Academy

U.S. Dream Academy is a daily after school program located in Charles W Fairbanks, IPS #105, who aims to serve children with a family history of incarceration or who are at risk of incarceration due to falling behind academically. We have a literacy program and also emphasize servant leadership to our students, who generally love to help others. We try expose our students to places and experiences outside of their norm, and have sent students on local trips as well as to Washington, DC, Houston, and even Mexico to build a home for a family in need.
