What is your day-job?

I am the Community Relations Manager at the Indianapolis Indians.

Where are you originally from?

Muncie, Indiana

What made you lay your roots here in Indianapolis?

I did an internship at Sun King Brewery and was hired on full time after I graduated from Ball State University. Through my position there I quickly became involved in the community and grew passionate about Indy. Once I became so ingrained in the city it was hard to imagine living anywhere else!

If you had to choose one mode of transportation to get around our city, which would you choose and why?

I would have to say my car. My schedule can lead me all over Indianapolis so I like having the flexibility that a car can provide.

Which local coffee joint is your favorite? What’s your go-to order?

Coat Check Coffee. The butterscotch latte is my go to!

What are you most excited for with 1828, or who has been your favorite speaker thus far?

My favorite speaker was Angela Smith Jones, the Deputy Mayor of Economic Development. Her energy and enthusiasm was contagious. I loved hearing about her past experiences and how she stays true to herself in the work place.

What are you most excited about when thinking about the future of our city?

I’ve lived in Indianapolis for over 7 years and in that short time the city has changed quite a bit. I’ve really enjoyed watching the different neighborhoods come to life and I can’t wait to see them to continue to revitalize. I’m also excited to see the impact that mass transit will have on Indy.

If you could make one rule that everyone on earth had to follow, what would it be?

This one is easy! As a former server, I’ve always said that I think everyone should work in the restaurant industry at some point in their life. It teaches you patience, hustle, and how to be nice to people. These are skills that we could all use in our lives!

What book has impacted you the most to date?

After losing my niece unexpectedly last year, I read Sheryl Sandberg’s Option B. It not only helped me deal with loss and adversity but it also gave me tools to be more supportive for my family.

What’s your dream adventure vacation?

Bora Bora! Put me on an island with a Pina Colada and clear blue water and I’m a happy girl.
