What is your day-job/ how do you spend your days?

I am the Building Safety and Crowd Services Assistant Manager for Pacers Sports & Entertainment. I am responsible for managing our Usher department and all things safety in the building. Each year Bankers Life Fieldhouse hosts 100+ events per year. Most of my time is spent planning for and assisting in the execution of said events. During normal operations I make time for the continual hiring, training, and retention of our Usher department and working to develop a safety culture within our company.

Where are you originally from?

Hammond, Indiana

What made you lay your roots here in Indianapolis?

I moved to Indianapolis in 2012 to attend IUPUI.

It’s the weekend. What are your plans and/or favorite things to do when not at work?

You will probably find me on my couch binge-watching a new series on Netflix. I am also a major foodie and enjoy exploring new restaurants in Indy.

When thinking about the future of our city, what are you looking forward to the most and why?

I am excited about the continual development of the city. All of the new restaurants, small businesses, park revitalizations, etc. have breathed new life into the city. The introduction of such elements helps to refresh the culture of the city and gives community members something to be excited about.

Quick- you can only eat at one local spot for the rest of your life. Where ya going and what’s your go-to item on the menu?

THE EAGLE!!! I’m ordering the macaroni & cheese with grilled chicken on top.

What’s a local Indy cause that is near and dear to your heart and how might people go about learning more or getting involved?

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue and disaster medical operations. Individuals can check their city or county’s websites for upcoming training courses to be trained and potentially join their local team.

Where’d you go on vacation last year?

I took a trip to Washington D.C. It is always so inspiring being in the Capitol and surrounded by the monuments. The best part was visiting the National Museum of African American History and Culture. I jump at any opportunity to continue learning about myself and the world around me.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeve is having someone’s feet touch me!
