Metamorphosis: Recent Painting & Sculpture by Tsherin Sherpa
March 11, 2020 - April 25, 2020
FreeTrained in the traditions of Tibetan thangka painting, Sherpa’s work borrows imagery from classical Buddhist iconography to investigate the dichotomy found where sacred and secular traditions and world cultures collide.
“Metamorphosis: Recent Painting & Sculpture by Tsherin Sherpa” will remain on view through April 25. This exhibition is the first of a new annual series focusing on contemporary international art and artists.
Sherpa will deliver an artist’s talk from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, with a reception to follow.
The Galleries at Herron, located in Eskenazi Hall on the IUPUI campus, are free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. Visit HerronGalleries.org for more information.
