Make Indy Your City

In most major cities, you’re on your own when it comes to getting plugged in, meeting new people and finding ways to make a difference. That’s a big deal when you consider that, each year, more than 1 million young adults pick up and move, in search of career opportunities, a change of scenery, or a community that better fits their goals, lifestyles and values.

The good news: that’s not how it works in Indy. We’re known around the world as a great place to visit, but we’re also an extraordinary place to live. And it’s in large part because once you arrive – or even if you’re someone who has lived here your whole life – we want to do everything we can to help you find your place and make your mark. Our goal is simple: be the most welcoming and empowering city in the country, especially for 20- and 30-somethings.

That’s where IndyHub, 20 of our closest friends (we call them City Ambassadors) and the Meet Indy project come in. We know that a truly inclusive city is one where you feel connected (to people, places and opportunities), involved in what’s happening, and able to lead on the causes you’re passionate about. So we take all of the hard work out of it, providing a concierge-like approach to helping you discover, love and live Indianapolis. We think engagement in the city is a unique and personal journey, so our hope is that we can provide some tools, connections and invitations to help you make Indy YOUR city.

With all of this in mind, we’ve curated the Meet Indy project, a concierge level approach to connect you to Indianapolis and expand your social capital. This is how it works:

Meet Indy is more than just networking. Making a city feel like home is way easier with accessible and focused people who are ready to celebrate and showcase all that Indy has to offer (with an eye toward the actual things you care about).

So, maybe you’re thinking this is great, but it’ll be a little awkward. We get it – moving is not easy, and meeting new people as an adult is sort of a chore – but we’ve built this experience with compassion and simplicity in mind. Even if this is unlike anything you’ve done before, it might just be the very thing you’ve been looking for.

If you’ve heard it before, know that it’s true – People Make the City, and in Indy – whether you’re brand new or not – we definitely think that includes you. Are you ready to meet new people and make Indy your city?
