AdvocacyCon: A Groundbreaking Conference Using the Power of True Crime for Positive Change
AdvocacyCon, a groundbreaking conference aimed at filling critical gaps in the true crime space, is set to make its inaugural debut in Indianapolis, Indiana from March 28 to 30, 2025. Founded by a group of dedicated individuals passionate about supporting the advocates fighting tirelessly for justice, AdvocacyCon promises to be a transformative event in the world of true crime.
Eric Carter-Landin, known for his advocacy work on his brother Jacob’s Case, creating the True Consequences Podcast and the non-profit, Angels Voices Silenced No More, along with Whitney St. Andre and Melissa Leinweber, hosts of the Navigating Advocacy Podcast, have joined forces to create this exceptional event.
“AdvocacyCon started as an idea to fill some major gaps in the true crime space,” says Eric Carter Landin. The aim is to shift the narrative surrounding true crime from exploitation to empowerment, where we harness its potential to do good. AdvocacyCon is more than just a conference it is a movement. The mission is to cultivate a supportive, resilient, and empowering community where families of the missing and murdered can access essential resources, gain valuable insights, and unite in advocacy efforts that foster healing and justice. The conference will provide a platform for advocates to network, share best practices, and explore innovative ways to make a lasting impact.
“We believe that true crime can be a catalyst for positive change,” says Whitney St. Andre. “AdvocacyCon is where like-minded individuals can come together, learn, and collaborate to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by crime.” Melissa Leinweber adds, “Our vision for AdvocacyCon is to create a space where advocates can not only find support but also gain the knowledge and tools they need to amplify their efforts and drive meaningful change.”
The inaugural AdvocacyCon promises to be a landmark event, bringing together advocates, resources, experts, and advocacy-focused content creators. Attendees can expect engaging keynote speakers, informative workshops, networking opportunities, and a supportive environment that encourages collaboration.
