The 4th Wall Players are holding auditions for their original adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast: Not Your Parents’ Fairy Tale”. They will be held at 5215 David Street, on Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22 at 6:00 PM. Auditioners need not bring anything prepared but will be asked to read from sections of the script. They will not be required to be at both nights.

Performances will be at Fonseca Theatre on November 10-12. Tickets will be available through Eventbrite and announced on 4th Wall’s Facebook page. The production will be directed by Alan Keith, co-founder and current board member of the group.

“The most exciting part about Beauty and the Beast (Not Your Parents’ Fairy Tale),” says Keith, “is having the opportunity to see all the creative elements coming together and bringing a brand new show to life. It’s always our primary goal for our productions to first and foremost entertain the audience. 4th Wall remains a group who is interested in showcasing artists in all aspects and bringing something exciting to the table to encourage non-traditional theatre goers to expand their horizons.”

The play has been in the works for years, with the script being written and published in 2018. “I (Keith) say the show has been in progress for 5 years but the concept was really born back in 2012 as one of the writing options we had discussed as a group. It ultimately lost out to “Frankenstein”, which worked out for the best as we have now produced that show three separate times.”

The 4th Wall Players was founded in 2011 by Keith and Josh Gibson. They currently make up a third of the board (Katherine Gibson, Kelli Gibson, Caity Withers, Kristen Flowers) and are excited to continue growing in Indy.
