Center for Black Literature & Culture (CBLC) Book Fest & Juneteenth Celebration

The 6th Annual CBLC Book Fest will offer a glimpse of the African American experience. We are bringing together poets, visual artists, storytellers, musicians, and book clubs to emphasize cultural literacy!
Featured speaker presentation by Galveston native Fay Williams, Esq. in a moderated conversation about the history of Juneteenth!
FREE 360 photobooth with DJ IN4RED and activities for kids in the Learning Curve!
Would you like to be a featured author?
Featured authors at Book Fest will receive table space to network with other authors, meet the public, and promote books. Set up will occur between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. that day. You do NOT have to fill out more than one application if you are interested in showcasing more than one book. Should you choose to do a short individual presentation of your work in the Center for Black Literature & Culture with a short Q&A, a short bio and image of your book’s cover will be required.

Tables and seating are limited. Submissions for consideration will be accepted through May 31, 2023. The application will take approximately 7-10 minutes to complete. If you have questions or further concerns, please email Amira Malcom.
