Conscious Living Community: The Environmental Impact of Composting

November 12, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Topic: Environmental Impact of Composting

Venue: Zoom

Speaker: Heather Maybury, owner of Earth Mama Compost

Description:

“Isn’t my food just going to decompose at the landfill? Does composting actually DO anything for the planet?” If you’ve thought this, you are not alone. But we’re here to tell you it makes a HUGE impact. Before jumping into anything, it’s very helpful to know the “why” behind what you are doing. Join us for our virtual event to learn all about the “why” of composting!

Thanks to Heather from Earth Mama Compost for being our speaker! Earth Mama’s mission is to help you reduce your carbon footprint. They collect your compostable kitchen scraps and drop them off at Green Cycle, where they are transformed into nutrient-rich compost. They are also a Certified Woman-Owned Business! 💪🏿💪🏽💪🏻

(spoiler alert :: composting is great for the Mother Earth and all her inhabitants!)

What is the Conscious Living Community?

We are an Indy-based community dedicated to taking individual and collective action toward a more just and sustainable world. We typically meet each month on the 2nd Thursday at 6:30pm. Each month we cover a different topic – all related to sustainable and ethical living. Past topics have included ethical fashion, carbon footprints and zero waste. Invite all your crunchy friends. 🌳
