“Ekphrastic” writing is so descriptive you can envision exactly what is being described. In this workshop you will examine visual art as an inspiration for your own stories, poems, and essays.

Many creatives enjoy art and writing and with ekphrasis, we can use art to inspire our writing. In this Ekphrastic Writing Workshop, we will examine visual art, including paintings, sculptures, and photos as inspiration for our own stories, poems, and essays. Participants will hone a deeper understanding of the connections between visual art and writing, which will keep us inspired long after the close of our workshop.
