About Our Program: Our Foster Pet Program protects pets of victims of domestic violence or sexual assault while their owner flees abuse. Many shelters in Indiana do not accept pets, so victims are left to decide whether to leave their beloved pet behind with their abuser or permanently rehome their pet while they find shelter. Our program provides safe, temporary housing for pets while their owner finds secure housing away from the abuser. After the survivor of domestic violence or sexual assault gets back on their feet, they are reunited with their furry family member! By supporting us, you would not only be saving the life of the animal, but also their owner as they both escape a dangerous situation.
