First Friday Gallery Opening

November 6, 2020 @ 6:00 pm

Friday, November 6th brings the opening night of “Zephyr,” a new collection of paintings, drawings, and ceramics by Kyle Ragsdale. Zephyr means “a soft wind,” and the figures throughout the paintings are enveloped in swirling and flowing fabric. The show blends inspiration from Baroque and Rococo periods with more modern techniques, such as splatters, drips, & visible brush strokes. “Zephyr” will be available for purchase online the Monday before First Friday (November 2nd). Please contact Sarah Peacock (speacock@harrisoncenter.org) with any questions about the show.

In the Speck Gallery, Kristi Marsh-Watson will present, “Chasing Serenity,” a mixed media collection of nontraditional methods, mediums, substrates, and chemicals to express cellular, aerial and horizon landscapes.

In the City Gallery, join us for the “PAMPAMPAM Show.” This group show will honor longtime Harrison Center employee Pam Allee, who departed last year after almost 20 years of service to the Harrison Center.

In the Underground Gallery enjoy “Indiana Plein Aire Painters Association,” a group show of paintings by members of the association.

In Hank & Dolly’s Gallery, Ess McKee presents “Distress Signal.” These mixed media pieces are created with flags from a variety of states and nations.

Art will be available to purchase in person during the First Friday event. New shows will be available for purchase in our online store beginning Monday, November 9th, with the exception of “Zephyr” which will be available online Monday, November 2nd. In-person viewings after First Friday are available by social distance appointment (contact Sarah at speacock@harrisoncenter.org).

The Harrison Center’s “Holiday Window Walk” will also premiere on November 6th. Please enjoy these displays that are open for viewing 24/7 around the perimeter of our building.

With support from: the Arts Council of Indianapolis, the Indiana Arts Commission, Christel DeHaan Family Foundation, and Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation.
