Free Admission Day at Indiana Historical Society for July 4th

FreeOn Thursday, July 4, the Indiana Historical Society (IHS) is celebrating Independence Day with a day of free admission, fun and activities for all ages! IHS invites guests to the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, located at 450 W. Ohio St. in downtown Indianapolis, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for free admission with a variety of crafts and activities that explore themes related to our country’s founding.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., families can participate in crafts and activities together in Lilly Hall and the History Lab, including creating your own paper plate bunting and pipe cleaner fireworks, the Indiana Scrambled Counties Game and more. Guests can share stories of their own traditions and celebrations, what it means to be a U.S. citizen and explore Indiana history. Visitors can also enjoy the traveling exhibit Faces in the Crowd which takes a closer look at the individual citizens in the crowd – each of whom plays a crucial role in civic engagement and the electoral process.
