Hoosiers Outrun Cancer

September 24, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

$30.00

Hoosiers Outrun Cancer is one of the oldest and largest 5K run/walks in Indiana. New for 2022, the event is moving the start / finish from Memorial Stadium over to the well known Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The course covers part of the beautiful Indiana University campus. The race has several options to fit needs of all abilities. We start off with the 1 mile competitive kids run or 1 mile family walk and then move over to a competitive 5K or an untimed 5K walk/family run. A virtual option is available for those that wish to participate but not attend in person.
Over the last 22 years, HOC has raised over $4 million to assist people impacted by cancer in south central Indiana. The funding and the guidance of the Bloomington Health Foundation has made it possible to launch a satellite office of Cancer Support Community “South Central Indiana” (CSCSCI). This new satellite office is located at 1719 W. 3rd St., Bloomington, IN 47404. This office provides support to cancer patients, survivors, family members, care givers, and friends. Examples of the supports that will be available are individual and support group counseling, reiki, massage therapy, yoga, art therapy, music therapy, social groups and activities, and much more. Additionally, CSCSCI will provide direct financial assistance in the form of grocery and gas gift cards as well as comfort kits filled with comforting and essential hygiene items to cancer patients. All programs and support provided by CSCSCI will be completely FREE to anyone impacted by cancer in South Central Indiana — so no one has to face cancer alone.
