Linking Indy Women Presents: Set the Expectation

GUEST SPEAKER: Elyssa Campodonico-Barr, President & CEO of Girls, Inc. of Greater Indianapolis

Elyssa Campodonico-Barr is the proud President & CEO of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, an organization that serves thousands of girls in Indianapolis annually with a mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Under Elyssa’s leadership, the organization is committed to strengthening its operational health and implementing a new impact-driven program model with strong financial sustainability, smart resource management, and bold programmatic results.

Previous to the Girls Inc., Elyssa last served as Chief of Staff of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. There, she was responsible for the development and execution of the BMV’s three-year Strategic Plan, the central coordination of staff activities, and advising the Commissioner on major projects and policy initiatives. Prior to her role as Chief of Staff, Elyssa was an attorney within Indiana University’s Office of the Vice President & General Counsel where her practice focused on Title IX policy and litigation. Her passion and purpose for serving women and girls began at the beginning of her career when she volunteered and eventually consulted for the United Nations among other international organizations in India, South America and sub-Saharan Africa.

Elyssa holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence and a Master of Public Administration from Indiana University. She is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy and the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, Class XLII (42). Elyssa was recognized as one of the 20 Under 40 alumni by Indiana University in 2018 and is a 2019 Indianapolis Business Journal Forty Under 40 honoree. Steadfast in her philosophy of service, Elyssa proudly sits on the Newfields Board of Governors, Indy Maven Editorial Board, the eImagine Corporate Advisory Board, the NBA All-Star 2021 Community Engagement Committee, and the Indianapolis Public School Superintendent’s Parent & Community Advisory Council.
