Market Gras: Gumbo Cook-Off

Free – $15Celebrate Mardi Gras at the historic Indianapolis City Market at the annual Market Gras Gumbo Cook Off being held Fat Tuesday, February 25, from 5:30-8 p.m. In its sixth year, Market Gras is a family-friendly gumbo cook off and a great way to finish the winter season!
Ten chefs from around central Indiana will take part in the event, each putting forth their own version of the traditional Cajun dish. Participating chefs come from local establishments such as Broad Ripple Brew Pub, Twenty Tap, Circle City Soups, Gomez BBQ, and Elena Ruz Cuban Cuisine. Each ticket includes a sample from all participating chefs; every sample comes with a slice of French baguette. After sampling, participants are able to vote for their favorite gumbo using Mardi Gras beads provided to participants upon entry with each guest getting just one vote!
Tickets for adult and youth participants are available for purchase through Brown Paper Tickets. During the event Tomlinson Tap Room will be open for all guests aged 21 and up! In addition to its all-Indiana craft beer tap line-up, Tomlinson Tap Room will also be serving specialty Hurricane cocktails!
