Thinking Yourself to Excellence: Starting From the Begining

April 29, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Through this free interactive workshop presented by Karri Woodard MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, participants will have the opportunity to increase their awareness and understanding of their mental health. Additionally, participants will have an opportunity to learn strategies to ensure their continued health and well-being.

About Karri Woodard, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Karri Woodard is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She has been a registered nurse since 2007 and throughout her experience, she has witnessed the gap between medical and psychiatric care, and how the body and mind connection is not valued. Seeing this helped encourage Karri to pursue a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certificate at Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis and graduate with honors in May 2021.

Karri’s ideal is to approach medicine in a gentle manner, starting off at low doses, with minimum medications.
Karri’s interests include being very active in her sorority Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, engaging with her oldest son’s acting career (she has even shared the stage with him), and engaging with her youngest son’s athletic dreams.

Karri believes that mental health is not only her passion but also her calling. With this perspective, Karri has recently started offering workshops to educate the general population about the importance of mental health, wellness, and care.
