On Thursday, November 4th, 4:00-7:00 p.m., local nonprofit IndyHub will host its first-ever Welcome Party presented by First Person Advisors at The AMP at 16 Tech. The event will focus on individuals who have arrived in the city over the last 18 months, providing an opportunity to explore the city’s offerings and connect with other Indy residents and local organizations.
A number of organizations will be on site to help attendees plug in to their new community. Current partners include Arts Council of Indianapolis, Asian American Alliance, Downtown Indy, Hi-Fi Indy, Indiana Sports Corp, Indianapolis Airport Authority, Indy Black Millennials, IndyGo, Leadership Indianapolis, Pacers Sports and Entertainment and The Exchange at the Indianapolis Urban League.
“We know that each year, more than a million 20- and 30-somethings move to a new city, and it’s a transition that isn’t always easy,” said IndyHub president and CEO Blake Johnson. “While we often throw going away parties, we very rarely welcome new arrivals to our community with the enthusiasm they deserve. IndyHub’s Welcome Party rolls out our city’s red carpet for the newest members of our community and let’s them know we’re thrilled they’re here.”
The event is free to attend but RSVPs are required either in advance or through registration at the door. Food and drink will be available. Attendees are encouraged to abide by all CDC guidance, including that unvaccinated attendees will be required to wear masks at all times. Vaccinated attendees are encouraged to wear masks when not eating and drinking.
