The Indianapolis City Market has an amazing opportunity for an intern this summer and fall!

The marketing internship focuses on operations of the City Market’s Original Farmers’ Market, held every Wednesday, May through October. The marketing intern will be expected to aid the City Market staff in a wide variety of functions to make the Original Farmers’ Market an exceptional experience for all who attend.

Details:

– Internship runs May 3 – October 25
– Focuses on operations and marketing/promotion of OFM & ICM events
– Pays $9/hour for around 16-20 per week (depending on the number of events)
– Candidates must apply by the end of the day on Friday, Feb. 24th
– There will preliminary meetings in March & April we will want the intern to attend.

Responsibilities:

 Farmers’ Market set-up & breakdown
 Troubleshoot Farmers’ Market vendor issues
 Help patrons use WIC and SNAP programs
 Create content for City Market’s social media accounts and newsletters
 Help coordinate volunteers
 Help administer place making and programming efforts
 Help administer the gleaning program Buy Two Give One
 Help in operation of other various Indianapolis City Market Events

Qualifications:

 An ideal candidate for the marketing internship will be detail oriented, highly responsible, able to interact professionally and positively with various populations, able to give and take direction when needed.
 Candidates must be passionate about community work and civic engagement; ideal candidates find hard work in community improvement both fun and fulfilling.
 Candidates must be a junior or senior in their undergraduate studies – or a recent college graduate – majoring in marketing, public relations, social work, communications, political science, journalism, etc.
