Okay, Tell Me About This Launch Party

We’re having a party on September 22 mostly just because we want an excuse to see you. But also because we’re really excited to launch our seventh season of Passport to the Arts.

And you’re absolutely invited and welcome to the party whether or not you’re even thinking about becoming a Passport subscriber.

Hang on. What’s Passport to the Arts?

We were hoping you’d ask. It’s an IndyHub program that’s a sort of sampler subscription series to the Indianapolis performance art scene. And this season comes with tickets, parties and behind-the-scenes exclusives with Dance Kaleidoscope, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indiana Repertory Theatre and Phoenix Theatre.

We work with each of the performance partners to make sure we’ll be going to an event that’s likely to be a crowd pleaser for Indy’s 20-/30-somethings. And if you can’t make our selected night, the partners are super cool and will help you figure out another one.

IndyHub’s into the arts?

Duh. We’re into just about anything the makes Indianapolis a more vibrant place for you to be, and we think a healthy appreciation of the arts is part of that. You don’t have to love all of the performances, but you should at least give them all chance. And what better way to do that than with a bunch of other people and food and adult beverages and really nice experts?

Cool.  So, other people will be going too?

Yeah! We have about 200 Passport subscribers every year, and each party/performance is attended by around 150 subscribers. Some people subscribe with friends or partners or coworkers, but we see a lot of solo subscribers, too. So, in addition to being a great way to dig into the Indy art scene, the Passport’s a super easy way to meet new people and make new friends.

Alright, now about that party?

Party’s going to be on Monday, September 22 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. (That’s right, we’re having a party on a MONDAY, and it’s free!) Everyone’s invited. Our season partners are going to be there to give mini performances that you don’t want to miss. We’re going to be providing you with some really tasty, complimentary hors d’oeuvres made by someone else. And there’s going to be a cash bar to help us raise some dollars to make the Passport experience even more awesome.

The Launch Party will officially kick of sales for the 2014-2015 Passport Season. And thanks to our arts-loving friends at Sky Blue Window if you’re among the first 25 people to purchase your Passport at the party, you get $10 off. Plus, you’ll get a referral code that you can share with a new subscriber who will also save $10. It is limited to to the first 25, and the offer is only available at the party.

So you don’t have to come to the party to get your Passport, nor do you have get a Passport to come to the party, but we think you’ll be glad you did.

Ugh. I’m new and don’t know where to park.

Oh, man, we totally get it. First, the Artsgarden is this big glass structure over the intersection of Illinois and Washington Streets downtown, and the Circle Centre Mall entrance at that corner will be your best access to the event on the second floor.

Street parking is all around, but the Circle Centre Mall garage off of Washington’s a convenient and inexpensive option.

That’s all we’ve got for now. You’ll just have to come to the party to find out more.
