Passport to the Arts is one of IndyHub’s longest-running signature programs. Along with our city, the arts scene in Indianapolis has changed significantly over the past decade. We do our best each year to highlight our traditional performance-based arts partners along with some new and exciting modern art shows to give subscribers a full scope of what the Indy arts scene is really about.
We sat down with our board member, Justin Sufan, who has been a Passport to the Arts subscriber for numerous years. Learn more about Justin’s experience and favorite parts about being a Passport subscriber!
IndyHub: How would you describe Passport to the Arts to someone who has never participated before?
Justin Sufan: Passport to the Arts is an all-inclusive event where you will discover the local arts scene and mingle with fellow young professionals. IndyHub handles all the planning; they curate a vibrant Indy arts series, host cocktails to get the conversations flowing, and arrange for exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences where you engage directly with artists. These are high energy, happy, events where you will feel welcomed whether you come alone or with a group of friends.
IH: How many years have you been a Passport subscriber?
JS: I have been attending Passport to the Arts for about 8 years.
IH: Which event comes to mind when you think about your favorite Passport experience?
JS: All the events are great, but if I had to narrow it down, I might pick Dance Kaleidoscope Magical Mystery Tour at the Indiana Repertory Theater or the play + special access party at the Phoenix Theatre a few years ago.
IH: What are some reasons you think Indy’s 20- 30-somethings should buy a Passport?
JS: It really is a great way to explore the arts scene, I’ll give you my top three reasons:
– You’ll cultivate a diverse appreciation for the arts in Indianapolis
– You’ll meet new people and discover different Indianapolis scenes and areas
– You’ll get access to exclusive VIP parties and one-on-one access to local artists
