We are so happy to welcome Ashley Miser to IndyHub’s team. Ashley will be focusing on event operations, volunteer management, and community engagement. And yes, for those of you playing along, this is the second addition to our team in two weeks, and you could say we’re pretty stoked for the new normal around this office! Ashley comes to us from Girls, Inc.
1. You’re an alum from: Indiana University Bloomington
2. Which part of Indy is home to you? Wynnedale
3. What’s happening in your neighborhood right now? I am so ready for warm weather so that I can ride my bike on the Canal Towpath through 100 Acres, and on to the Broad Ripple Farmers Market!
4. To date, what’s been your favorite program or most useful tool of IndyHub? Indyvolved is one of my favorite IndyHub events. It highlights the amazing civic responsibility each of us feels to this city!
5. What are you passionate about? I am passionate about education in our state, women’s rights, and all together creating a brighter future for our city.
6. It’s Wednesday night, what are you doing? On a random weeknight you may find me creating pottery pieces at a clay class, but check back with me on a Friday and I’m sure to be scoping out a new brewery with my husband.
7. What are you reading now? I’m a huge fan of anything that will make me laugh, so of course I’m reading Why Not Me by Mindy Kaling.
8. Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Since moving to Indy you will catch me riding my bike. I am a huge sucker for everything that our Cultural Trail has to offer!
9. What did you want to be when you were small? I was set on growing up to be a country music singer, aka Shania Twain.
10. What’s something you once could do, and would like to do again? My inner gymnast would love to recreate my glory days of doing 12 back-hand-springs in a row!
11. Favorite family tradition? My all time favorite tradition is the Ukranian Easter egg war. Each year, everyone decorates two hard-boiled eggs. After the decoration is over, the war begins. Each family member challenges another member to test the strength of the egg by tapping the eggs end to end. Whoever has the last un-cracked egg wins!
12. If you had to list your top 5 Indy related things, what would they be? The Indy 500, White River State Park, St. Benno Fest, City Market, and the Canal downtown.
Be sure to say hi to Ashley at our next event!
