The IndyHub Board of Directors is growing! We are thrilled to welcome the newest additions to the IndyHub Board of Directors and the IndyHub Foundation Board of Directors. Their visionary leadership will help guide our programs and their cultivation of new relationships makes them invaluable ambassadors.

As board leaders, these individuals will help to amplify our mission to grow, engage, and empower a community of 20-and 30-somethings who are meaningfully connected to Indy and invested in its future. Get to know these doers and change agents below!

INDYHUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Alix Zervas(she/her)

Manager at Katz, Sapper & Miller

Alix Zervas is a manager in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Business Advisory Group. Alix works closely with her clients on a wide variety of accounting, tax, and business matters. She has extensive experience in tax planning, tax analysis, and forecasts and projections. Alix serves clients in a myriad of industries, including insurance, professional services, and technology. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration while majoring in accounting and organizational leadership at the University of Dayton. Alix is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Indiana CPA Society. She is a recent graduate of United Way of Central Indiana’s Leadership United community leadership and board development program and is a founding member of Katz, Sapper & Miller’s young professionals organization.

Austin Baker (he/him)

Regulatory Affairs Analyst II at AES Indiana

A husband and dog-dad, Austin has lived in Indy for three years now. He loves cooking, traveling, and sports. Austin earned his undergraduate degree from and pursuing an MBA at Butler. His favorite Indy activity is either attending a Colts game or jogging around the monuments.

He serves as the President of AES Indiana’s Emerging Professionals Network. Austin is also a “Big” for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana and volunteers at Wheeler Mission and Gleaners food bank.

Greg Stowers (he/him)

Ice Miller’s Director of Public Affairs

Greg Stowers is a lifelong resident of Indianapolis and has been focused on engagement, exposure and empowerment throughout his career. He is the Director of Public Affairs for Ice Miller LLP, representing clients in a wide range of policy matters at the state and local level. His network of leaders from the public, private and non-profit sectors have provided him with a unique skill set to provide strategic advice and most importantly – turn problems into opportunities.The Indianapolis community has served as a foundation for him with politics playing an important role in his development, from grassroots organizing to policy-making. He’s worked on a number of political campaigns and started a non-profit initiative called Hashtag Lunchbag Indy, which has provided meals for more than 35,000 people around Central Indiana. He sits on various boards and works with community partners on various initiatives. An avid writer and thought-leader, he’s been featured in various news outlets and publications. He graduated from Indiana State University, with a degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations.

Joel Zawacki (he/him)

Assistant General Manager – Corporate Sales & Marketing at the Indianapolis Indians

Joel Zawacki is the assistant general manager overseeing sales and marketing for the Indianapolis Indians. Each year he is tasked with the implementation of an annual strategic marketing and communications plan to exceed an attendance goal of more than 600,000 and a revenue goal of more than $14 million.His primary duties and responsibilities include leading a staff of more than 20 employees in advertising, broadcasting, communications, community relations, corporate sales, game presentation, marketing, media relations, merchandising and promotions. Zawacki also collaborates with outside advertising and media agencies to develop and implement annual campaigns including messaging, creative execution, promotional partnerships, and allocation of an annual budget in excess of $1.5 million. Zawacki joined the organization in 2007 as sponsorship sales coordinator. He was promoted to director of corporate partnerships in 2012, and added marketing to his duties and responsibilities later that year. Zawacki graduated magna cum laude from the University of Indianapolis in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Administration. He was a pitcher on the Greyhounds’ baseball team and earned Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Academic Team honors.After college and prior to joining the Indians, Zawacki worked as a sponsorship sales intern with Pacers Sports and Entertainment, and also interned with the Brevard County Manatees of Melbourne, Fla., the Single-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.Zawacki resides in Indianapolis with his wife Ellen and two sons Jack and Ethan.

Rico Francis (he/him)

Senior Manager of Consulting at TNTP

Rico Francis is an Indy transplant who grew up just outside of Washington D.C. He is a student and teacher advocate that works as a Senior Manager for Consulting at TNTP; he’s passionate about diversifying the teacher workforce and collaborating with communities to support holistic youth development. Rico also serves as a youth mentor (Big) at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, sits on the Board of Directors at Victory College Prep, and recently established the Coalition of Young Professionals in Education.

André Zhang Sonera (he/him)

Project Manager for Economic and Community Development at City of Indianapolis

André Zhang Sonera serves as the Project Manager for Neighborhood Engagement for the City of Indianapolis. He previously served as Special Assistant to the Mayor. Originally from San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, André received his Master’s in Public Affairs (Policy Analysis) from the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IUPUI in 2021. His previous work experiences at the White House, the New York City Mayor’s Office of Operation, and the Office of the Indiana Lt. Governor have nurtured his passion for public service and government. In his spare time, he proudly serves as a Big Brotherfor BBBS of Central Indiana.

Chelsea Patterson (she/her)

Learning and Development Manager at The Heritage Group

Chelsea Patterson is a Learning and Development Manager at The Heritage Group. Since joining the company in 2014, she has designed and facilitated employee training, leader development, and is certified in Everything DiSC Workplace and Myers Briggs Steps 1 and 2, which she uses to enhance internal talent capabilities. Chelsea leads an annual Kids Science Camp in partnership with the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis that encourages a love of STEM education among employee children. She was also involved in the opening of The Center, the organization’s state-of-the-art collaboration and R&D space in northwest Indianapolis. Chelsea holds a bachelor’s degree in Chinese and International Affairs from Miami University. During her time at Miami, she studied at Tianjin Foreign Studies University in China and interned for a consulting firm in Hong Kong. In her free time, Chelsea enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She is also a horse lover and accomplished equestrian who has competed at the world and national levels of the American Royal and World Championship Horse Show.
